Clear Bag Policy

When attending the 2024 fair you must adhere to the clear bag policy

To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite fairgoers’ entry into fairgrounds, Chesterfield County Fair Association (CCFA) has implemented a clear bag policy that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into fairgrounds. Exceptions to this policy will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.

Allowed bag types

The CCFA strongly encourages fairgoers not to bring any bags, but fairgoers will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package, or container into the fairgrounds, or when approaching queue lines of fairgoers awaiting entry into the fairgrounds:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" or 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm.
  • Small purses or clutch bags no larges than 12" x 6" 12" or 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm (approximately the size of a woman's hand) with or without a handle or  strap, in addition to one of the clear plastic bags.
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar) are permitted.
  • While non-clear bags are prohibited, exceptions are typically granted for medically necessary items and diaper bags (in presence of a child), after proper inspection.

Not allowed

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to coolers* briefcases, non-clear backpacks, non-clear fanny packs, non-clear cinch bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera or binocular bags or any non-clear bag larger than the permissible size.
